Tutorial 1: Basic Blend with MadMapper and Quicktime Files, Modul8 or any Syphon server

Making a simple 2-projector blend from scratch with MadMapper, using Quicktime files or a Syphon server like Modul8 as input and a Matrox DualHead2Go or TripleHead2Go.

For detailed reference on the blend mapping process, see the manual.

Tutorial 2: Resolume Arena

Making a simple 2-projector blend with Resolume Arena, using Advanced Output.

If you have Resolume Avenue, which does not have the Advanced Output mapping, configure it as a Syphon server and follow tutorial 1.

For detailed reference on the blend mapping process, see the manual.

Tutorial 3: VDMX

Making a simple 2-projector blend with VDMX.

For detailed reference on the blend mapping process, see the manual.

Tutorial 4: Blending 3 or more projectors

For more than 2 projectors, there’s no secret, just apply the same technique to each intersection. Treat projector 2-3 just like projectors 1-2, ans so on…

This tutorial shows how to blend 3 projectors with a Matrox TripleHead2Go.

If you have to use more than one video output, see tutorial 5.

Tutorial 5: MadMapper and multiple video outputs

MadMapper handles just one video output. If you need to work with multiple outputs ou multiple GPUs, you need to work with more than one MadMapper instance.

This tutorial explains this technique with 2 outputs, but Blendy VJ have been tested with 6 outputs on a Mac Pro with 3 GPUs, each one with 2 DVI outputs, plus a monitor, powered by 6 MadMappers instances running in parallel.

Your MadMapper licence will work with as many instances as needed on the same computer.

Tutorial 6: Vertical Blend

What if the projectors are aligned vertically, like a column? It’s the same as horizontal blend, but using rotated blend patterns.
